Job Title:

Engineer

Summary/Job Description:

Performs complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques.  Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment.  The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements.
Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy.
Participates in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations.
Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
Performs other related duties as required.

Supervision Received:

May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to nonexempt personnel.

Job Complexity:

Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.  Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Requires thorough working knowledge on Unigraphics CAD application, 3D modelling, 2D drafting, Assembling, Sheetmetal. Working exposure in PDMs such as I-MAN, Team center is required. Working exposure to cabling and Topdown design technics is required.
Work exposure to CNC manufacturing processes, tools and methods is an additional requirement. Working knowledge about FMEA (PFMEA&DFMEA), DFM and DFA, DOE (Design of Experiments) is required. Understanding the application of materials in product design in relation with life cycle, Reliability and MTBF etc is an additional advantage.
Implementation of GD& T, ASME 14.5 Y 1994 standards application is required.

Education &/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from four-year college or university from Mechanical, metallurgical, Aeronautical ad production engineering stream. and minimum five years related experience and/or training.
